I Support Life-Inspired Individuals, Groups and Organisations to Thrive with Life

Collaborative Somatic Practice

The purpose of this work is not mastery
(of your body, or of life)

The purpose is to move into ever deepening relationship with Mystery,
through the living process of your body

Collaborative Somatic Practice is a trauma-responsive interdisciplinary approach which seeks to compassionately meet the scope of your human experience through personal, collective, ecological and mystical dimensions.

Through explorations in somatic movement education, embodied relational presence, embodied rest, creative process & reflective practice, generative pathways to personal & collective liberation emerge, supporting a capacity to intimately meet life in these times.

Collaborative Somatic Practice is also a practice of resistance and remembering:

  • Resisting the relentless tide of dominant modern culture, which upholds values of misogyny, racism, marginalisation and power over.
  • Remembering that life thrives within diversity, that we are stronger in our collaborative togetherness, that we all are worthy of respect, that there is something deeply generative that happens when we listen to the emergent spaces between us.

CSP is open to all adults.

In what has come to be known as the Global North, we live in a dominance culture that values immediacy, being busy and ‘power over’ the natural world. To slow down, rest and attune to the natural intelligence and cyclical rhythms of your own animal body has become a radical and necessary reclamation.

Through Collaborative Somatic Practice you can weave a web of remembrance and interconnection with each other and with the living world. When you connect with the diverse collaborative intelligence of your own body, the ways you gesture into Life shift. You can begin to reimagine culture away from a ‘power over’ paradigm to an ‘empowered with’ one. You can begin to remember yourself as part of nature, part of the great web of life.

Body as Support: In response to the current cultural paradigm in the Global North, I am motivated to share simple and effective offerings that support you to meet Life in these times. Your body is the ground through which all relationships unfold: inner and outer. Attuning to a supportive & collaborative inner ecology, in turn, supports outer ecologies to thrive.

Body as Guide: Collaborative Somatic Practice evokes awareness of, and offers expression to, body systems that can often sit below the threshold of everyday awareness. Contacting these systems and remaining attentive to body as living process can inform and guide you as you navigate your unique path.

Body as Nature: We work to validate the living wisdom of the body and its place as part of the animate Earth.
Through explorations in gentle movement, sensory awareness and reflection you are invited to experience yourself as a collaborative participant within a living world. How do you speak? And how do you listen?
We are not apart from nature. We are nature. At its heart, this work is dedicated to the remembrance of this through the body.

Remembering pathways back into connection with each other and the living world is, now, ever more necessary.

Through Collaborative Somatic Practice, I gently support you in slowing down, attuning to your own body and cultivating a lived experience of resilience, presence, responsiveness and connection with the living world.

Collaborative Somatic Practice will support you to:

  • Grow Resilience, Responsiveness and Adaptability: Through attuning to the present felt sense, becoming more responsive to emergent potential & creative pathways that support you, and life, to thrive
  • Develop Empathy, Collaboration and Communication Skills: By fostering connection with each other and the living world through shared practice & experience
  • Heighten Imagination and Creative Capacity: A responsive nervous system invites innovation, insight and flow, sparking creativity & energising life force
  • Cultivate connection with your body: A felt sense of internal connection can contribute to a wider sense of agency, relational safety and remembrance of yourself as part of the great web of life
  • Strengthen Emotional Regulation: Somatic tools support you to better manage stress, stay present during conflict, and to make decisions from a connected place
  • Reduce Burnout: By learning to listen to your own body and being responsive to your own pace within this fast paced world
